I don’t know where I’d be…

…without the Scriptures, or the Church, or the Gospel of Jesus Christ (they are all basically the same amazing thing).
I met a 55-year-old man the other day who is not from a Christian nation. He is from the heathen country of Japan (it’s okay to say that, because it’s true) and last December he was rear-ended by a young boy who was driving without insurance. This man has been suffering from whiplash since the accident. When I asked him if he was suing the kid who hit him, he gave me a remarkable answer:
“No,” he said, “he can’t afford it. He is just a kid who is starting out. I have been around a lot longer and I can afford it. Besides, I was young once and did many stupid things, too.”
Unbelievable. Something like this would never happen in the US.
So I take it back — I do know exactly where I would be without all those amazing things. I’d be suffering from whiplash in a heathen country, paying my hard earned money for someone else’s stupid mistakes. Idiot. Just another reason to be thankful, I guess.
