The actual sources of this prophecy are found in other historical documents, as documented in the June Ensign of 1976. While it is true that it contains many truths as far as they are regurgitations of truth from traditions that were passed around the Church in the early days of Utah, that by no means should lead us to conclude that the prophecy itself is actually true, or that everything that it says is true. Inasmuch as it contains some things that are true, just like the apocrypha, it can be used, but only to the extent that the things that are in it are really true. Other things are probably false, and the whole prophecy itself is not what it claims to be.
